Birth Year

Using the list below, select the animal sign that corresponds to your year of birth.

This animal represents your core nature—your instincts, natural strengths, and the way you move through life.

Once you’ve identified your animal sign, hold it as a starting point. It forms the foundation for understanding your talents, career tendencies, and how your energy naturally expresses itself—especially when paired with your Western astrology sun sign.

*** Important ***

Eastern Zodiac animal signs are not based on the Western (Gregorian) calendar. They follow a hybrid solar–lunar system, which means the start of the Zodiac year shifts each year—typically occurring between February 3 and February 6.

Because of this natural variation, birthdates near the beginning of February require closer attention:

  • If your birthday falls before February 3
Your Eastern Zodiac animal sign is determined by the previous year.
  • If your birthday falls between February 3 and February 6
Your animal sign may belong to either the previous year or the current year. In these cases, both should be reviewed to determine which energy applies most accurately.
